Dinner at the Ronnings...

The Ronnings were their usual kind selves and invited us for diner today. The Hubers, on the other hand, were super late... Rob's fault. After a lovely dinner the Ronnings brought out a birthday cake for E.


The picture was taken just after she blew out the candles. It took only two tries, practice makes perfect.

A quick recap of our South Carolina trip.

Monday:
We found a Playground in Forsyth Park... odd seeing as the lady in the visitors center said that all the playgrounds in the whole city were closed due to construction and that there was nothing to do for kids in Savannah. The girls enjoyed themselves as much as the lady must not.

Tuesday:

Ahh, the beach, time for some sand throwing.







Wednesday:
The next day all four girls went to the pool, the water was really cold. So cold that it kept the moms out of the pool, but not the girls. Kristen was willing to help Elanor warm up.




Thursday:
Elanor found many, many sea shells.

Friday:

There is Elanor dancing as Hannah Rocks out. Hannah was really
sweet when Elanor went to pay her respects after the show.

An overdue additon to the cast of our blog...

...is Tia Sarah.
Here we have Elanor sporting her early birthday present from Sarah. An awesome hand knit Poncho. None of the pictures of Elanor looking at herself in the mirror wearing this really turned out but she could not take her eyes off of herself in a very sweet way that we have never seen before.

(I should probably add that Prima Sarita added groovy trim. We do love our Sarahs.)

I think that we have a two year old. This is what taking Elanor places is all about now, her running away as we call after her as if it will do anything other than make her laugh.











As we waited for the train home Caitlyn noticed that Elanor had an untied shoelace and offered to tie it for her. How nice of her! (It might have gone faster if she knew how to tie shoes.)

Today we had a play date with our friends Connie, Payton and Cassidy Brown, of the Brown Cow. There were thunderstorms all morning and Elanor was looking forward to doing some puddle jumping.

It turned out to be so nice a day that we had to stop and play a little on the playground...

Elanor's buddies Debbie, Kaitlyn and Evelyn were out of town last week looking at houses in preperation for their impending move to Cleveland, Ohio. Elanor was beside herself at the idea of going shopping with Debbie and Evelyn while Teetah (Kaitlyn) was at school.

I am not sure if an M or a H belongs before the "...ugging" that Elanor gave Evelyn as they shared a cart at Costco.

Pama and Pompah brought dinner to our house and as they were leaving Elanor was on my lap and said that she wanted quarters for her piggy bank. She was able to convince Pama to part with a couple of hand fulls of change from her purse as she placed the coins one by one into the piggy bank.

Today Uncle Jay, Cara and Baird came over for a playdate... fun. I had to work the last day of the big sale at Two Fish. I took some pictures as I walked them most of the way to the park on the way to work.



















I made sure that Kristen had the camera so she could take some pictures to put up here. Apparently, soon after they got to the little tot lot another mom and her sons arrived. Kristen said other mom asked if any of our group were Forest Park voters because
her mother is Terry Steinbach, who is running for Mayor of Forest Park. She wanted to know if Kristen, the only Forest Park voter, was planning on voting and if so had she considered voting for her mother. Conversation revealed that she anticipated being asked if she had made such inquiries and did not want to upset "the candidate" seeing as that she and her boys will be moving back in with Terry while her husband, a serviceman, is redeployed overseas.

The result... these are the only pictures she had a chance to take.
